Toronto's own Melanie Fiona wins two Grammy Awards

Wins for best traditional R&B performance and best R&B song for her Cee Lo Green collaboration “Fool For You.”
TORONTO, February 12, 2012: Toronto native Melanie Fiona won awards for "Best Traditional R&B Performance" and "Best R&B Song" for “Fool For You", a collaboration with Cee Loo Green. Having been nominated for a Grammy Award twice before, tonight's wins are her first.
The songtress paid tribute to the late Whitney Houston, who died siddenly Saturday at age 48: “Whitney Houston, I would not be standing up here if it was not for you — God bless you"
Fiona cites Whitney Houston, Sam Cooke, Sade, Amy Winehouse, India.Arie, Patsy Cline and Bob Marley as her musical influences. She also cited Janet Jackson's career as inspirational, who she called an icon.
We know these are just the first of many Grammy awards for this super gifted recording artist.
